What is STRIDE Week?

STRIDE Week is a celebration of movement in all its forms. Running March 23–28, 2026, it's your chance to try new activities, challenge yourself, and connect with your community across Adelaide's West.

STRIDE was created by a local YMCA Change Agent as part of the global YMCA Change Agents initiative, a program that empowers young leaders to design and deliver community projects that make a difference. YMCA South Australia supports STRIDE through venue access, staffing, and funding from the YMCA Impact Fund.

The goal is simple: help everyone find joy in movement, whatever that looks like for them. No experience needed. No judgement. Just show up and move your way.

Do I need to book sessions?

Yes. Download the free Technogym app to book your spot. Bookings for each session open two weeks before the event date. Spaces are limited, so we recommend booking as soon as they open.

I'm a complete beginner. Will I feel out of place?

Not at all. STRIDE Week is designed for all fitness levels. Whether you're trying something for the first time or you're a seasoned athlete, there's a place for you. Our facilitators create welcoming, inclusive environments.

Pickleball: Closed shoes, water bottle.
Roller Skating: Socks, comfortable clothes, optional protective gear.
Swimming: Swimmers, towel, change of clothes.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs on-leash are welcome at Sunrise Beach Pilates and the Glow & Go Twilight Session. Dogs are not permitted at indoor venues.

Can I bring my children?

All ages: Swimming & Aqua Inflatable, Roller Skating, Glow & Go Twilight (parents/guardians supervise own children).
16+ to participate: Sunrise Beach Pilates (younger children welcome to watch).
Bubs in prams/carriers are welcome at beach sessions.

I have mobility limitations. Can I still participate?

STRIDE is about finding your movement. Most sessions can be modified for different abilities. MultiBall is a great option as it's completely customisable for all abilities and ages. Indoor venues (The Parks, St Clair, Thebarton) are wheelchair accessible. Beach sessions and The Hot Method are not wheelchair accessible due to terrain. The Glow & Go course has boardwalk sections from the 800m mark.

What if it rains?

Outdoor sessions (Sunrise Pilates, Glow & Go Twilight) will proceed unless weather conditions are unsafe. We'll notify registered participants via the Technogym app if any sessions are cancelled or relocated.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds are not available for this program due to the low cost. If you can no longer attend, you're welcome to pass your ticket to a friend.
