YMCA Strathalbyn ELC is excited to offer 3 year old pre-school from 2027 as part of the Flying Start program.
What is 3 year old pre-school?
The new Flying Start program is a government-supported 3-year-old preschool program led by qualified early childhood teachers who work along side early childhood educators. This play-based program is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence while supporting social and emotional development through fun, purposeful activities. Children will enjoy outdoor play, child-led discovery, opportunities to celebrate aboriginal and other cultures all in a safe, inclusive environment.
The program brings government investment to pre-schools and investment into higher qualifications, professional development and resources.
Who is eligible?
3 year old pre-school will start from term 1 2027, and is open to anyone who wishes to enrol in the program. There is no catchment area for 3 year old pre-school at YMCA Strathalbyn ELC.
Children are eligible for pre-school funding in the 8 terms before they commence school. 3 year old and 4 year old pre-school. Children who are eligible for 4 year old pre-school, may chose to enrol in a Department of Education Pre-school (depending on your zone) or continue here at the YMCA Strathalbyn ELC until your child commences school.
