Teagan Director

Service Director and Educational Leader

Hi, I’m Teagan, and I have worked in Early childhood education since 2021; obtaining both my certificate III and diploma along the way. With a background in Health services and Allied Health services, I felt drawn to supporting and nurturing children in their younger years and am so excited to be working for the Y at Riverbanks ELC as the Director and Educational Leader.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of leading teams across various age groups and I firmly believe that crafting engaging and stimulating spaces is vital for children’s development. Early childhood education resonates deeply with me as it allows me to forge meaningful connections, impart a love for learning, and empower children to embrace their individuality and autonomy.

Beyond the learning environment, you’ll find me baking, spending quality time with family/ friends or on a camping/ 4WD trip!

Hi, I’m Courtney and I am the centre cook, new to the role as I was previously an assistant educator for the centre. I still work as an assistant educator in the afternoons 4 days a week. I find this rewarding, as it allows me to keep the relationships I have with the children, as well as creating relationships with children new to the service. I started working in early childhood in 2023, and it has always been a passion of mine to make a difference and support children's learning and development. Previously to working for YMCA, I completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Counselling and Interpersonal Skills). Working as the centre cook has become so rewarding, to hear the children talk positively about the food I cook, and by offering a seasonal menu, it provides opportunities to expose the children to a wide variety of nutritious foods. I’m also a mum to 2 beautiful boys who love being outdoors and are constantly on the go! and our favourite place to go as a family is to the Riverland.
