THE ROLE

We are seeking highly motivated, passionate and professional individuals to assist in overseeing and delivering our Youth Empowerment programs.

We believe in the power of inspired young people. Our goal is to offer youth empowerment programs and experiences that provide children and young people an opportunity to increase their confidence, social development and self-esteem in a safe and fun environment. We are committed to supporting young people to prepare for a fulfilling life where they can harness their passion and use it to positively impact the community and those around them.

Our Youth Empowerment team are recruiting internally for someone to assist in leading and delivering our youth programs as we move into summer and the new year. This role may include planning and developing activities for wide cohort of young people, overseeing the program delivery of Youth Parliament, Camping and/or Defence programmes and delivering safe and engaging activities whilst on program. You will be required to ensure that our program outcomes are met and that we are providing a safe environment for our participants to contribute, connect and thrive.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants will need to be highly motivated, able to use initiative and have flexible availability to cover a demanding roster. Overnight stays in dormitory and tent accommodation will be required. Applicants who have experience working with young people, who can manage challenging behaviours and mediate conflict resolution will be prioritised.

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

  • Certificate of completion for “Responding to Abuse and Neglect” (RAN) training
  • National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC) – Certificate must be within one (1) year from date of issue, otherwise must renew check prior to commencement
  • Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) Working With Children Check(s) (prior to commencement)
  • Current HLTAID009 – Provide CPR Certificate or equivalent
  • Current HLTAID0011 – Provide First Aid Certificate
  • Current Drivers Licence (ability to drive manual geared vehicles preferred)
