THE ROLE
Looking for extra work over the Uni School Holidays? Do you enjoy creating fun, engaging and safe experiences for children while building your skills in communication and program delivery?
If so, here's your opportunity to join YMCA SA in two roles, a KidsClub Assistant & Programs Assistant! At the Y, our teams inspire confidence, curiosity and joy in children every day. In this role, you’ll provide quality care and engaging activities for young people across our Kids Club and School Holiday Programs. Based at The Parks Recreation and Sports Centre, you'll be a part of a vibrant and supportive team that brings fun and connection for children and families in our community.
Applicants must be available for work December & January School Holidays. (There will be a break from the 21st of December-6th January).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a KidsClub Assistant, you will:
- Provide child minding services for members of The Parks for children aged 5 and under.
- Ensure a safe and caring environment for all children.
- Deliver friendly customer service and communication to parents and guardians.
- Uphold and implement the philosophy, policies and procedures of the KidsClub.
- Provide parents and children with warm and welcoming inductions to the KidsClub.
As a Programs Assistant, you will:
- Support the delivery of The Parks School Holiday Program including 2-hour morning sessions, full day programs and OSHC Bookings.
- Coach a range of fun activities including, Nerf Wars, Dodgeball, Parachute Games, Indoor Sports and more.
- Ensure a safe and caring environment for all children.
- Set up and pack down of programs.
Our programs are catered for Primary Aged children, with a pre-planned session for you to follow.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- National Police Check (issued in the last 6 months)
- DHS Working with Children Check
- International Criminal History Record Check (if worked/lived overseas in the last 5 years)
- RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
- HLTAID009 Provide CPR
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- Foundational knowledge of responsibilities under the Child Safe Environments compliance
- Experience in excellent customer service delivery
