If so, here's your opportunity to join YMCA South Australia as a Health and Fitness/Group Fitness Instructor! At the Y, we believe in empowering people to live healthier, happier lives through movement, connection and community. Based at Port Lincoln Leisure Centre, you'll play a key role in motivating participants, promoting wellbeing and supporting members to achieve their health goals by delivering engaging classes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Health and Fitness Instructor, you will:
- Work as a team member to provide the very best health and fitness advice through consultation in a friendly atmosphere
- Supervision of Health Club users, providing technical advice, support and encouragement
- Ensure Health Club users are conforming to Health Club etiquette guidelines
- Conduct safe, appropriate and effective programs that are within your scope of practice
- General cleaning and tidying of Health Club and areas associated with your work area
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will:
- Deliver high quality Group Fitness classes within all prescribed program formats / guidelines
- Ensure the required Group Fitness Studio is set up and class is ready to start as per scheduled time, and studio is packed up at end of class
- Ensure the health and safety of all participants
- Foster a sense of belonging and build rapport with participants

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y
Successful candidates for our Health and Fitness/Group Fitness Instructor role will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- National Police Check (issued in the last 6 months)
- DHS Working with Children Check
- International Criminal History Record Check (if worked/lived overseas in the last 5 years)
- Certificate III or IV in Fitness or Group Exercise Leader certification
- (HLTAID009) Provide CPR
- (HLTAID011) Provide First Aid
