If so, here’s your opportunity to join YMCA SA as a Customer Care Officer. As a YMCA SA Customer Care Officer, every interaction you have is a chance to create a welcoming experience, support community connection, and ensure our members and guests feel informed and valued. Based at Whyalla Recreation Centre, you’ll be the face of our centre, greeting visitors, assisting with enquiries, managing memberships and transactions, and providing key information about our programs and services. We are looking for a team member who will be able to join a vibrant and supportive team in the evenings and weekends!

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to enquiries in person, on the phone and via email
  • Assist with membership sales, program information and general administration
  • Manage cash handling, POS transactions and café or merchandise sales
  • Support the smooth daily operations of the centre, including acting as the primary contact for customers
  • Maintain knowledge of services, bookings, events and emergency procedures


REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y:

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

  • National Police Check (issued in the last 6 months)
  • DHS Working with Children Check
  • International Criminal History Record Check (if worked/lived overseas in the last 5 years)
  • HLTAID009 Perform CPR or equivalent
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptable and team-oriented
