THE ROLE
St Clair Recreation Centre is a busy community hub delivering recreation and programs to the local community. We're looking for a Programs Assistant to fill our roller skating component and teach in our Learn to Skate classes.
Based at St Clair, you will lead fun, safe and engaging skating sessions, helping participants of all ages and abilities build confidence and skills on wheels. This is a casual role with Friday and weekend availability required.
Key responsibilities include:
Teach basic roller skating skills in our Learn to Skate classes
Keep fun and safety at the forefront of every session you lead
Conduct activities and structured sessions as directed
Set up and pack down, maintaining a safe and neat area suitable for all ages and abilities
Provide an enjoyable experience that keeps participants coming back
Successful candidates will have:
2+ years of roller skating experience and the confidence to teach basic skating skills
RRHAN-EC Masterclass, Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect, Education and Care (or willing to obtain)
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID009 Provide CPR (or willing to obtain)
Availability for Friday and weekend shifts
Experience working with children and young people, with excellent interpersonal skills
