THE ROLE
Whyalla Recreation Centre is seeking a dynamic and community-focused Community Wellbeing Coordinator to lead our programs, people, and wellbeing initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will champion physical activity, oversee high-quality service delivery, and create opportunities for the Whyalla community at our recreation centre to connect, grow, and thrive. We are looking for someone who inspires others, builds a positive and energetic team culture, and can work confidently both independently and collaboratively across a diverse range of programs and staff groups. The role on offer is full-time, with an option for 0.8 FTE part-time (30 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support and coordinate cross-functional teams and community wellbeing programs, driving innovation, participation and continuous improvement.
- Promote the benefits of physical activity across the Whyalla community by developing targeted initiatives, strengthening new member engagement and building partnerships with schools, clubs and community groups.
- Plan, deliver and evaluate programs and events—including launches, masterclasses and stadium activities—to meet service, participation and budget targets.
- Ensure all program areas are supervised safely, professionally and consistently, maintaining high standards of customer service, cleanliness and presentation.
- Oversee rosters, staff relations and day-to-day operational responsibilities to support a cohesive and efficient team environment.
- Champion WHS by modelling safe behaviours, maintaining compliance, addressing risks promptly and promoting a strong safety culture across all areas of responsibility.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- National Police Check (issued in the last 6 months)
- DHS Working With Children Check
- International Criminal History Record Check (if worked/lived overseas in the last 5 years)
- RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
- HLTAID009 Perform CPR or equivalent
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or equivalent
- Certificate III & IV in Fitness
- Professional registration / membership with applicable national body i.e AusActive
