YMCA celebrates state awards success

YMCA South Australia Gymnastics was successful at the recent Gymnastics South Australia Annual Awards, winning in a key category and being nominated as a finalist in two others.

Head gymnastics coach, Toni Hayles, underlined her expertise and leadership by winning the award for Kindergym Leader of the Year.

The organisation’s two gymnastics centres were represented as finalists, with YMCA Seaford Gymnastics coach Jo Davidson nominated as Gymnastics For All Coach of the Year and YMCA Glengowrie Gymnastics nominated for the Inclusive Initiative of the Year award.

YMCA Regional Development Manager, Haydn Bellamy, said the ongoing growth of YMCA Gymnastics was a reflection on the work and dedication of the gymnastics staff teams at both Centres.

“Toni’s award is fitting recognition of her outstanding passion and enthusiasm. She believes in making gymnastics available and accessible to everyone and that attitude filters through our entire staff team, which in turn helps grow participation,” he said.

“The state awards continue to reward excellence in important areas of access and inclusion. Our results are very pleasing and I congratulate all involved on behalf of the YMCA.”
