The Parks recognised as Multiservice Business of the Year by exercise and active health industry peak body, AUSactive

The Parks Recreation & Sports Centre has won Multiservice Business of the Year at the 2026 AUSactive National Awards, recognising the centre as the best in Australia in the category. Centre Manager Leeann Ksiezak accepted the award on behalf of the team. "It recognises the impact we deliver for people in the community every day, to their health, happiness and social connection," Leeann said.

AUSactive judges the category on service integration, staff development, innovation, and community involvement. The award aligned with key service deliverables facilitated at Parks: modern 24/7 gym, allied health clinic, swimming lessons and lap pool, stadium sports, accessible change rooms, and a water safety program for over 300 students with complex disabilities. An internal leadership program and peer-nominated Y-Factor Award showed investment in staff, while the Hot Pilates studio spoke to innovation. On community, NeuroMoves was a highlight, a neurological rehabilitation program run with Spinal Cord Injuries Australia and UniSA, the first time it's operated in a community recreation facility in Australia. All of this running under one roof, drawing more than 350,000 visits a year.

The award was presented at the AUSactive National Awards Gala at Sydney Town Hall on 11 September with YMCA South Australia's Head of Sport & Recreation, Craig Hortin, there for the announcement. "This is a huge achievement for our team, and it means a great deal to have that work recognised by judges from Australia and overseas,". "An award as special as this continues to demonstrate the industry excellence and leadership that YSA has been delivering to the community for 176yrs" Craig said. YMCA South Australia was also named a finalist in the Social Value & Community Impact category, highlighting YMCA South Australia’s mission to deliver not-for-profit recreation programs to build wellbeing in the local community it serves.

For The Parks, it's recognition of a facility built around its own community, and a team that shows up to serve that community with a range of wellbeing services every day.
