ABOUT THE ROLE

Based at Thebarton Aquatic Centre in Torrensville, you'll be teaching a life-long skill to students of all ages and abilities. You will be planning and delivering swimming lessons, tracking their progress and keeping parents informed along the way. This is a casual role with flexible shifts to suit study or other commitments. Key duties of this role are:

  • Planning and delivering swimming lessons in line with the YMCA SA curriculum

  • Tracking student progress and communicating regularly with parents and carers

  • Supervising pool users actively to ensure safety at all times

  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports students and families

  • Maintaining equipment setup and safety compliance

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates will have, or be willing to obtain:

  • AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety (or equivalent)

  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR (or willingness to obtain)

  • RRHAN-EC Masterclass (or willingness to complete)

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for aquatics education
