THE ROLE

As an Operations Director at Thebarton Aquatic Centre, you'll step into a highly visible leadership role where your expertise directly shapes safety, culture and service delivery of the site. You’ll gain the opportunity to lead and develop multidisciplinary teams, influence strategic and operational outcomes, and work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to maximise participation, access and wellbeing outcomes for the community. Supported by YMCA SA's commitment to learning and development, this role is ideal for someone with experience in the aquatic industry to come in and make an impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and support aquatic operations to ensure safe, high-quality service delivery
- Coach and develop Duty Manager and Lifeguard teams to build capability and engagement
- Ensure compliance with aquatic supervision standards and safety regulations
- Oversee daily facility operations, including presentation, maintenance and contractor performance
- Drive continuous improvement across operations, safety and people practices
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in recreation or equivalent
- RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
- SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard or equivalent
- HLTAID009 Perform CPR or equivalent
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or equivalent
- SISSS00131 Aquatic Technical Operator or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience within the aquatics industry
