Health and Fitness Instructors and Personal Trainers

THE ROLE

Are you passionate about helping others achieve their health and wellbeing goals? We are seeking motivated and engaging fitness professionals to join our team either as a Health & Fitness Instructor and/or Personal Trainer at The Parks Recreation and Sports Centre!

Health & Fitness Instructor

As a Health & Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for supervising the gym floor, providing safe and effective exercise guidance, and delivering high-quality customer service to members. You will support members through program design, technical advice and encouragement, all while maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming health club environment. You will also assist with member engagement and retention initiatives while working collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Personal Trainer

As a Personal Trainer, you will conduct one-on-one and small group personal training sessions, supporting clients to achieve their individual health and fitness goals. You will build strong rapport with clients, deliver tailored programs within scope, and provide ongoing motivation and accountability. You will also contribute to membership retention strategies, maintain professional presentation standards and uphold YMCA SA policies and procedures at all times.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

• Certificate IV in Fitness
• HLTAID009 Provide CPR
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• AusActive Registration
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong ability to multi-task and proactively work without supervision
• Demonstrated personal training experience (for the Personal Trainer role)
