THE ROLE

YMCA State Sports Park is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our ever‑growing coaching team. Our centre was proudly awarded Overall Gymnastics Club in SA for 2025, and we continue to strive for excellence by delivering fun, interactive, engaging, and safe gymnastics experiences for all. With a rapidly growing membership base and increasing demand for quality programs, we are seeking a committed coach who is passionate about gymnastics and eager to build a long-term career in the sport.

Our ideal candidate looks like:

a) Someone who can offer 15-20 per week across 2-3 weekdays (within school hours) and Saturdays

b) Demonstrated flexibility to grow within the role, including additional opportunities as time progresses

c) A basic understanding of all gymnastics apparatus and experience delivering engaging, progressive recreational gymnastics for a variety of ages

d) Confidence in coaching across a range of programs and abilities (Recreational classes, inclusive programs, school groups, kindergym and mini-gym, adult gymnastics, birthday parties)

e) Willingness to deliver gymnastics and movement-based sessions in school settings

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver excellent customer service using strong communication and problem-solving skills to address enquiries and concerns
  • Assist in the development of all participants and provide relevant, constructive feedback to the relevant parties
  • Ensure program and centre policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements are upheld
  • Deliver excellent customer service using strong communication and problem-solving skills to address enquiries and concerns
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised gymnastics environment throughout each shift
  • Participate in team development, training sessions and staff meeting

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

  • (HLTAID009) Provide CPR
  • (HLTAID011) Provide First Aid
  • RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
  • International Criminal History Record Check (if worked/lived overseas in the last 5 years)
  • National Criminal History Records Check (issued within the last 6 months)
  • Current Gymnastics Australia Technical Membership
  • Gym Sports Coaching Accreditation – Gymnastics Australia
    • Intermediate Accreditation (Level 2) or
    • Advanced Accreditation (Level 3)
