Exercise Physiologist - The Parks/Marion Leisure and Fitness Centre

YMCA South Australia is seeking a passionate, skilled and client-focused Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) to join our dynamic Allied Health team, commencing in early 2027. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact through high-quality, evidence-based care, while being supported by a committed, collaborative team of professionals.

THE ROLE

You will join a supportive, experienced, and values-driven Allied Health team, based primarily at The Parks Recreation & Sports Centre and/or Marion Leisure & Fitness Centre. New and recent graduates are encouraged to apply, for commencement late January 2027. The role offers:

• Structured new/ recent graduate program, along with mentoring and ongoing professional development

• A varied and rewarding caseload

• Programming in large gyms including functional fitness areas, pilates equipment and hydrotherapy

• Strong focus on patient-centred care, rather than KPI’s

As an AEP at YMCA SA, you’ll deliver high-quality care including:

• One-on-one assessments and tailored clinical exercise programs

• Group exercise sessions addressing specific health concerns

• Health education workshops

• Collaborative care planning within a multidisciplinary team, referrers, clients, and community members

• Navigating funding pathways such as Medicare, NDIS, compensable schemes, and private health

Your caseload may include clients managing:

• Cardiac, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions

• Orthopaedic rehabilitation

• Diabetes and chronic disease

• Mental health concerns

You’ll play a vital role in empowering clients to optimise their function, build confidence, and achieve lasting health outcomes.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who:

• Is enthusiastic, motivated, and values working in a vibrant team

• Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Is confident managing a diverse caseload and adapting programs to meet client goals

• Demonstrates strong clinical reasoning and a commitment to ongoing learning

• Some industry experience ideal

Essential Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology

• Full accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)

• HLTAID009 Provide CPR

• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

• RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care (or willing to obtain)
