THE ROLE
New opportunity available! Are you looking to expand your skillset and join our team as an Aqua Fitness Instructor? If so, here's your chance to do so. We are open to individuals who are passionate about this role and are willing to obtain the required qualifications!
As a key aquatic and recreation facility in the region, our centre plays an important role in supporting the health, wellbeing and connection of the local community. You will be delivering safe, engaging and effective group fitness classes in a supportive water-based environment, in line with format and training guidelines. Building strong relationships with participants will be central to your role, helping foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere where members feel connected, confident and inspired to achieve their personal wellbeing goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivering high-quality, engaging aqua fitness classes in line with program guidelines
- Modifying exercises to safely support participants with varying abilities and needs
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive and motivating class environment
- Building positive relationships with members to encourage ongoing participation
- Contributing to the development and success of YMCA SA wellbeing programs
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y
Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:
- RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
- WETS Aqua Fitness Instructor Certification or equivalent
- HLTAID009 Perform CPR
- Professional registration with a recognised governing body
- Proven capability to build strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders
- A genuine passion for health, fitness and supporting community wellbeing
