THE ROLE

YMCA South Australia is looking for a passionate Aqua Fitness Instructor who enjoys motivating others, building connection through movement, and making a positive impact on community wellbeing.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your confidence as an instructor while delivering safe, engaging and inclusive aqua fitness classes for participants of all ages and abilities. You’ll develop strong communication and coaching skills, build meaningful relationships with members, and play an active role in helping people feel stronger, healthier and more confident in the water. This opportunity is ideal for instructors who want meaningful work, flexibility, and the chance to grow their technical and soft skills through this opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging aqua fitness classes in line with program guidelines
  • Modifying exercises to safely support participants with varying abilities and needs
  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive and motivating class environment
  • Building positive relationships with members to encourage ongoing participation
  • Contributing to the development and success of YMCA SA wellbeing programs

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

  • RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care
  • WETS Aqua Fitness Instructor Certification or equivalent
  • HLTAID009 Perform CPR
  • Professional registration with a recognised governing body
  • Proven capability to build strong and positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • A genuine passion for health, fitness and supporting community wellbeing
