YMCA Gymnastics celebrates major wins at the Gymnastics SA Awards
YMCA South Australia’s impact was recognised at the 2025 Gymnastics SA Awards, with multiple programs and athletes acknowledged for excellence, growth and community contribution. Across our gymnastics locations, YMCA SA continues to strengthen participation pathways, invest in workforce capability and deliver inclusive, high quality programs that support young people and families throughout South Australia.
Large Club of the Year and Overall Club of the Year | YMCA State Sports Park Gymnastics
YMCA State Sports Park Gymnastics was awarded both Large Club of the Year and Overall Club of the Year, recognising an exceptional period of growth and leadership. Launching in October 2024 with no members, the centre grew to more than 900 participants in 2025, representing one of the strongest growth stories in South Australian gymnastics. The award reflects strong governance, quality program delivery, investment in coach development and a clear focus on community engagement.
Trampoline Gymnastics Female Youth/Junior Athlete of the Year | Misha Colebrook, YMCA State Sports Park Gymnastics
Misha Colebrook was recognised for an outstanding competitive year. She secured a podium finish at the Australian Gymnastics Championships, contributed to national team success and earned selection to represent Australia at the World Age Championships in Spain, where she placed fifth. The award highlights both her dedication and the strength of the performance pathway at State Sports Park.
Gymnastics for All Active Participation Award | YMCA O’Sullivan Beach
YMCA O’Sullivan Beach received the Gymnastics for All Active Participation Award in recognition of its strong commitment to inclusive participation. Delivering 32 classes each week across KinderGym, Mini Gym, Recreational Gymnastics and TeamGym, the centre provides accessible pathways for participants of all ages and abilities. Active involvement in challenge events, interclubs and state championships reflects a connected and engaged gymnastics community.
KinderGym Program of the Year Award | YMCA Gymnastics Seaford
YMCA Gymnastics Seaford was awarded KinderGym Program of the Year, recognising excellence in early years movement education. Expanded session availability, high safety standards and a new partnership with Aldinga Early Learning Centre strengthened accessibility and community reach. The program continues to deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate sessions that build confidence and foundational skills for young children.
Together, these awards reinforce the broader value of YMCA Gymnastics in South Australia. Through structured physical activity, strong coaching and inclusive program design, YMCA SA supports healthier communities, builds resilience and creates positive outcomes that extend well beyond the gym floor.
