The big issues for young people in South Australia

YMCA South Australia is providing candidates in the May 18 federal election with detailed, first-hand information about the issues important to young people across the state aged 15 to 25.

The list of important issues has been developed by candidates who participated in the 2018 YMCA Youth Parliament, which is an annual event that engages 85 young people and provides a forum for them to have their say on current issues with a view to having them accepted into legislation.

Candidates from across the state developed 12 Bills which were debated, ranging from affordable electricity and housing reform to the accessibility of abortion and voluntary euthanasia.

Youth Parliament is a key initiative in the YMCA’s commitment to empowering inspired young people and providing development opportunities for the next generation of leaders.
