Purruna Spencer Newton Centre
YMCA South Australia has partnered with Scotch College Adelaide to manage the school’s new $27 million Purruna Spencer Newton Centre.
The state-of-the-art Wellbeing & Sports Centre is a realisation of big dreams and an audacious vision and will serve Scotch College and the local community well into the future.
Located on campus in Torrens Park, the centre will feature an aquatics space with a 25m lap pool, a separate program pool, Pilates studio, stadium courts and a variety of multi-purpose wellbeing and consultation spaces. In addition to hosting student and staff programming, the state-of-art facility will offer the community a learn-to-swim program along with casual admission and membership options for fitness classes such as Reformer Pilates, Yoga and Aqua Fitness.
The YMCA is actively recruiting for a number of casual positions including swimming teachers, lifeguards, Pilates & Yoga instructors, and customer service staff.

Swimming Teachers & Teacher In Charge (supervisor) - $26.78/hr - $31.56/hr
YMCA Swimming Teachers are an essential component in the delivery of the YMCA Swimming Lessons Program. Swimming Teachers are required to maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of YMCA aquatic programs, educational trends and industry development.

Duty Managers - $31.56/hr
Duty Managers will provide leadership and supervision to assigned teams while overseeing daily operations, ensuring staff productivity, monitoring process compliance and creating a positive and safe work environment for all employees and patrons visiting the facility.
LifeGuards - $28.32/hr
Pool Lifeguards at YMCA facilities take on much greater responsibility than simply supervising water space. As well as identifying potential risk factors and taking steps to reduce those risks, lifeguards will act as positive role models to build happier, healthier communities within the facilities that we manage.

Pilates & Yoga Instructors - $55/class
Looking out over the Adelaide skyline, the facility will boast a brand-new boutique style Pilates studio with 16 reformer beds aiming at providing a variety of wellness programs. Complimenting the reformer studio will be a variety of Yoga and Pilates mat work programs with future provisions for Barre classes to complement the suite of programs on offer.

Customer Service Officers - $26.78/hr
Customer Service Officers are the face of our organisation, responsible for ensuring all members and guests receive the highest possible level of service. You will be the first and main point of contact for all facility members and guests. You will be responsible for cash handling and POS, telephone operation, tours, program information, membership sales and enquiries. Your exceptional customer service skills will be challenged through the need to multi-task and problem solve, while always ensuring a positive customer experience.
