THE ROLE

Port Lincoln Leisure Centre is YMCA South Australia's regional aquatic and fitness facility serving the Port Lincoln community on the Eyre Peninsula. The centre offers a full aquatic program, gym facilities and swimming lessons, and is a hub for community wellbeing in the region.

The Operations Coordinator is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of how our aquatic centre runs day to day. You will lead our Duty Manager and General Cleaner teams, keeping the centre safe, compliant, and well-presented for every person who comes through the door. This is a role for someone who takes pride in high standards, knows their way around a plant room, and gets the best out of the people around them.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and supervise Duty Managers and General Cleaner teams, including rostering, training and ongoing development

  • Manage all aquatic plant room operations and water quality, ensuring compliance with the Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation and SA Health legislation

  • Oversee facility presentation, maintenance and contractor management across your shifts

  • Act as the facility's WH&S representative, coordinating risk audits, incident reporting and emergency procedures

  • Take on Duty Manager and Lifeguard direct service responsibilities as rostered

  • Contribute to the development of operational working manuals and support continuous improvement across the centre

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE Y

Successful candidates will also have, or be willing to obtain:

  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

  • SISSS00133 Pool Lifeguard

  • RRHAN-EC Masterclass – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education & Care

  • Minimum 2 years aquatic industry experience or in a similar environment

  • Extensive knowledge of the guidelines for Safe Pool Operation

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex pool/aquatic issues

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
