THE ROLE

We are seeking a friendly, professional and organised Allied Health Receptionist to join our growing Allied Health team. This casual role will be based primarily at The Parks Sports and Recreation Centre, providing essential front-line support to clients and health professionals.

The position will involve approximately 12-20 hours per week, with flexibility to cover additional shifts during periods of leave or increased demand.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience reflects the YMCA’s culture of genuine care. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome clients in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Manage bookings for multiple clinicians across several locations using practice management software (e.g., Cliniko).

  • Process payments and invoices for various funding types, including Medicare, DVA, NDIS, RTWSA, CTP and private billing.

  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.

  • Provide administrative support to Allied Health clinicians as required.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, clinicians, YMCA centre staff and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area.

  • Evening and weekend work is not required.

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

Essential:

  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional, welcoming manner.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.

  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and manage competing priorities.

  • Commitment to YMCA values and the wellbeing of the community.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in allied health, medical or similar reception/administration roles.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, health systems and funding streams.

  • Experience with practice management software (e.g. Cliniko).

Successful candidates will have, or be willing to obtain:

  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR.

  • RRHAN-EC Training Certificate.

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination status in compliance with Government health directions.
