In 1844, a drapery clerk called George Williams left a very special legacy to the world. He started a support group to fulfil the spiritual and educational needs of young working men in London. This was the foundation of the modern-day YMCA.

Over the years, the YMCA has reached out to countless young men and women. During both World Wars, the YMCA provided vital support for soldiers who found themselves posted far from home. The YMCA is now one of the largest youth welfare organisations in the country, working with thousands of disadvantaged young people every day.

However, we need your help to ensure we can look forward and reach future generations of vulnerable young people. One way to do this is with a gift in your Will.

If you leave a legacy to the YMCA, you will build on history – helping young people transform their lives, well into the future.
